From Play Gym to Gym squads we offer classes in all areas of the sport

OUR CLASSES

We offer classes for everybody and every ambition from the toddler motor development programs in Play Gym and Gym Stars to the pursuit of Olympic calibre competitors. Gymnastics provides the strongest and most enjoyable foundation for a child’s journey in becoming a happy and healthy adult by being one of the best all-around training experiences for growth and development of children and youth. The development of physical condition, coordination and strength is complemented with the development of self-confidence, self esteem, concentration and cooperative learning skills.

Parent & Child Gymnastics Session (Under 6yrs)

Parent and child gymnastics is a pre-booked session for children under 6 accompanied by a parent or carer.
Members of the coaching staff are on duty but children remain the responsibility of the accompanying adult.
The gym is transformed into an safe place for the child and adult to explore. Age appropiate gymnastics equipment as well as full gymnastics apparatus and a floor level trampoline

Due to a reduction in available spaces for any given session, sessions must be pre-booked. When pre-booking a session pre-payment must be made. 

Participants must leave promptly at the end of their session time, to enable cleaning. 

ALL PARENTS MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING WHILST INSIDE THE BUILDING

Gyms Stars for 2.5 -4yrs

Coaches working with pre-school children for over 35 years that is designed to challenge and delight your child! Gym Stars is a class format in which boys and girls ages 2-4 years are with a parent and participate in a group class format with a specialised instructor. Experts believe that movement at this stage in life is essential in developing hand-eye coordination, direction taking skills, motor development, physical education, and cooperative learning skills. Children will learn basic tumbling skills and an overall experience that includes the bars, beam, and mini-vault with age-appropriate equipment. This fantastic 45-minute lesson involving FUN and EXCITEMENT will delight your child and bring years of physical benefit and fun! Join the best class in town as we develop the habit of exercise.

All classes must be pre-booked / parents must wear a face covering

Mondays:         13.00 – 13.45  /  13.45 – 14.30
Tuesdays:        10.00 – 10.45   / 13.00 – 13.45   /    13.45 – 14.30

General Gymnastics for school age (reception – Year 1)

During this one-hour class your child will be grouped based on skill ability and age. Our classes emphasise proper training technique of the bars, beam, vault, floor, flexibility training, strength training and more! Each class is carefully constructed to motivate your child in a fun and progressive environment with emphasis on safety and proper training methods for injury prevention.  Your child’s instructor will make a formal recommendation if your child is ready to move to the next skill group.

Children work towards British Gymnastic Core Proficiency Awards during Autumn and Spring Term and in the Summer term develop routines in order to compete in our Annual Club Competition which takes place in July and is the highlight of the Club calendar.

We hold TRIAL CLASSES during school holiday time, please click ‘register’ to book. During the trial children are assessed and the offered a suitable class once one becomes available

These classes have a larger focus on progressive skills on all apparatus and building confidence.  More strength and flexibility conditioning to attain advanced skills. 

Children work towards British Gymnastic Core and Advanced Proficiency Awards during Autumn and Spring Term and in the Summer term develop routines in order to compete in our Annual Club Competition which takes place in July and is the highlight of the Club calendar.

General Gymnastics for school age (Year 5 plus)

These classes have a larger focus on progressive skills.  More strength and flexibility conditioning to attain advanced skills.  Children can start gymnastics at any age.  A great way to keep fit whilst having fun.  During this class our more experienced gymnasts will continue to be challenged to ensure they reach their potential, while we take into account children new to the sport.  

Children work towards British Gymnastic Advanced Proficiency Awards during Autumn and Spring Term and in the Summer term develop routines in order to compete in our Annual Club Competition which takes place in July and is the highlight of the Club calendar.

Womens Artistic Squad for 4yrs+

Is a discipline of gymnastics in which athletes perform short routines on different apparatus? Our award-winning competitive teams have been winning medals and titles from around the globe for over four decades. We provide a competitive program providing training in all Olympic apparatus including beam, bars, vault and floor exercise.

By invitation only. 

Days and times vary depending on which coach you have.

Mens Artistic Squad for 4yrs+

By Invitation only.  Harrow School of Gymnastics Men’s Artistic Squad based on the guidelines of British Gymnastics Talent Development Programme.  Members of The Harrow Men’s Artistic Squad have received top honours and achieved national status including membership of the current GB National Squad.

Adult gymnastics

Adult Gym is a drop in session suitable for all abilities.

All sessions must be booked in advance on line.

At your first session you will need to fill in a registration form and by your third session you must pay your British Gymnastics and London Gymnastics annual membership fees or you will not be allowed to participate in any further sessions.

 

Following British Gymnastics advice and guidance there will be some changes to Adult Gym.

  • There will be no group warm up. Everyone needs to warm up individually keeping in mind social distancing.
  • There will be no group basics.
  • Only one person can use a piece of equipment at one time. You must clean down equipment and mats after you have used them (cleaning equipment is available in buckets next to apparatus)
  • You must sanitise your hands before going on apparatus and in between turns. You cannot go from apparatus to apparatus. You must work on one apparatus, then you must clean it before you move on to another.
  • With wooden equipment and beam hands must be sanitised before each go as this apparatus cannot be cleaned.
  • If these rules are not adhered to you may no longer be allowed to attend Adult Gym.

Tuesdays and Thursday 9 pm – 10:30 pm.
